On April 27, left-hander Cherie Tan left a solid 9-pin that cost her a chance to win the 2019 Nationwide PWBA Greater Cleveland Open, harkening back to the infamous solid 8-pin that Pedersen left to lose the 1995 PBA Touring Players Championship to Ernie Schlegel. Tan would have needed two more strikes to edge Josie Barnes by a pin, but never go that chance due to the 9-pin.
