Anthony Simonsen started Friday’s cashers round of the 2020 U.S. Open in fourth, but jumped into first with a big block as the top 24 headed into match play at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln, Nebraska. Simonsen fired games of 234, 246, 231, 235, 200, 222, 225 and 230 for a field-high 1,823 for the cashers round for a 32-game total of 7,067 (220.84 average) and a 44-pin lead over the 7,023 of fellow 2-handed superstar Jason Belmonte, who totaled 1,768 for his round despite a 178 start and a...
