Coming into Friday’s cashers round of the 2021 U.S. Open at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, the top four were left-handed and the big question was how lane pattern 4 would play for left-right equity. Once the 8-game cashers round was completed, it was clear the right-handers had more than a fighting chance as Sam Cooley and Jason Sterner moved into second and fourth, respectively, while Jakob Butturff’s lead shrunk from 157 pins after 24 games to 96 pins after 32 games.
