The last time a USBC Queens was set to begin in pre-pandemic 2019, Dasha Kovalova was a relatively unknown young player on the PWBA Tour still looking for her first title. Then she won the Queens, charming bowling fans with her humor and positivity, and went on to win the 2019 PWBA Louisville Open with a perfect game in the title match, and the 2021 PWBA Twin Cities Open after the 2020 PWBA Tour season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
