Mika Koivuniemi’s domination of qualifying at the 2024 PBA50 Tour Hamtramck Singles Classic Open was jaw-dropping, but John Janawicz arguably upstaged him. Koivuniemi led Tuesday’s first round by five pins, but in Wednesday’s second round the Finnish right-hander started with 23 strikes and fired games of 300, 299, 223, 279, 203, 258 and 220 for a 7-game total of 1,782 and a 14-game total of 3,415, a 243.93 average and a stunning 278-pin lead over fellow Hall of Famer Jason...
