Anyone who closely follows the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships knows that Carl and Clark Poelzer earned a slice of tournament history in 2014 when they became the second father and son to win the doubles Eagle — the first was Walt and Bob Roy in 1977. On Saturday at South Point Bowling Plaza, Doug Kent and his son Jacob Kent put themselves in position to become the third on that select list when they fired 1,425 to move into first in doubles.
