Sun Prairie boys maintain lead, Sun Prairie girls edge into lead after Week 9 of Madison area high school bowling

The Sun Prairie boys maintained their lead and the Sun Prairie girls edged into the lead after Monday’s ninth week of Wisconsin District 4 High School Bowling at Schwoegler’s Entertainment Center and Waun-A-Bowl in Waunakee.

Eleven boys varsity, three boys junior varsity, and four girls teams are competing this year. For varsity only, there were 11 and five last season, and prior to that it was 11 and six, and 12 and six.  

The competition features nine games of Baker format each week.

For the boys, Sun Prairie has 82.5 points and Sauk Prairie/Poynette is second with 64.5.

For the girls, Sun Prairie has 47.5 points, La Follette/McFarland/Memorial is second with 46.5, Monona Grove third at 45.5, and Marshall/Cambridge fourth with 40.5

For boys on Monday, Sun Prairie had the high series and game with 2,142 and 290.

For girls, Marshall/Cambridge had the high series and game with 1,663 and 229.

Andrew Olson and Austin Est of Sun Prairie and Zach Davidson of Saul Prairie/Poynette led the boys in fill percentage with 100 percent each.

Kylie Chandler of La Follette/McFarland/Memorial led the girls in fill percentage at 94 percent.

For the season, Olson leads the boys at 92.99 percent and Allison Dempski of Marshall/Cambridge tops the girls with 86.33 percent.

The top five boys and top three girls in fill percentage, plus the singles tournament champions, qualify for the State Singles Tournament.
