IBF matches PBA Tour rule, banning urethane bowling balls below 78D hardness
After a long period of ignoring the issue, the International Bowling Federation finally has acted on urethane (aka slow oil-absorbing high-performance) bowling balls, matching the PBA Tour rule by banning urethane balls below 78D hardness. In addition, IBF said in Newsletter 12 that random hardness checks may be carried out during events and any ball that measures below 72D will be declared non-compliant and removed from the competition.
