Katelyn Simpson and Mary Wells fired 1,378 on Thursday to soar into the doubles lead at the 2017 United States Bowling Congress Women’s Championships, USBC reported. Simpson fired 732 and Wells added 646 as they eclipsed the 1,332 of prior leaders Melissa Van Dyke and Heidi Sanders. The pair of 22-year-old right-handers who were teammates on Junior Team USA in 2015 while bowling collegiately – Simpson at Pikeville and Wells at Central Missouri -- rolled games of 440, 467 and 470...
