The finalists — eight men and eight women — for the Bowling Writers Association of America Collegiate Bowler of the Year awards for 2011-12 have been announced.
The winners will be announced at on Wednesday at a reception that kicks off the 2012 Intercollegiate Bowling Championships in Lincoln, Neb., USBC announced in a news release.
The men's finalists are Jack Castellano of Briarcliffe College, Greg Geering of Fresno State University, Marshall Kent of Robert Morris University-Illinois, Aaron Lorincz of Saginaw Valley State University, Brad Miller of Lindenwood University, Sean Rangel of William Penn University, Chris Via of Notre Dame College (Ohio), and Geoffrey Young of Wichita State University.
The women's finalists are Brandi Branka of McKendree University, T'nia Falbo of University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, Laura Fonnegra of Lindenwood University, Amanda Greene of Lindenwood University, Kayla Jones of Kutztown University, Kayla Rhoades of Marian University (Indianapolis), Jazreel Tan of Wichita State University, and Kim Yioulos of University of Pikeville.
That's some serious talent in those 16 bowlers!
