Nathan Michalowski ripped the monkey off his back on Saturday.
The Burlington righty no longer can vie for the “title” of best PBA Regional bowler without a title.
After numerous close calls, Michalowski finally broke through to win his first PBA title in the PBA Midwest Region Dutlers Bowl Open Presented By Etonic in Mankato, Minn.
The Dutlers Bowl Open was a one-day tournament with seven games of qualifying followed by 12 games of round robin match play.
The tournament was contested on the Cheetah pattern and it took a score of 1,539 to make match play and 1,489 to cash.
Michalowski went 8-4 in match play and ended 69 pins ahead of Don Breeden. First was $2,500 and second $1,400.
David Beres of Waukesha was sixth for $750, Dale Traber of Cedarburg seventh for $725, and Chad Maas of Waukesha eighth for $700.
