If we get home in time from our trip that starts with the USBC Open Championships, I think I will be traveling down to Rockford, Ill. on Saturday, May 26.

On that day at 1:30 p.m., Don Carter Lanes, 4007 E. State St., is hosting the Kegel EVEN/ODD Sport Series Challenge.

For the tournament, the even lanes will be oiled with the 43-foot Kegel Deadman’s Curve Sport pattern and the odd lanes will be oiled with the 35-foot Kegel Boardwalk Sport pattern.

I’ve bowled a couple of tournaments like this and it is a very fun challenge.

The cost is $40 per bowler and first is guaranteed $400. There also will be brackets and pot games.

The format is six games of qualifying, with the top eight advancing into bracket match play.

Here is the tournament’s Facebook page.
