The Ebonite All-Stars rallied to win Friday's Ace Mitchell Team Challenge at the Proprietors Cup in Dayton, Ohio.
Ebonite featured Jason Couch, Dave Wodka, Kelly Kulick and my teammates Marc McDowell and Mike Shady. Not a bad collection of talent!
The team rolled 3,447 (1,163-1,122-1,162) in qualifying and then 264, 219 and a closing 248 in Baker format games for a 4,178 overall total to top the 41-team field.
That edged out Get R Dun by 18 pins. Get R Dun fired 3,498 (1,204-1,147-1,147) and then 206, 267 an 189 for 4,160.
St. Clair Lanes was third with 4,136, followed by Turbo Grips All-Stars at 4,103 and the Storm All-Stars at 4,065.
First was $5,000 and Get R Dun also received $5,000 as the highest finishing non-All-Stars team.
"We had great chemistry," Shady said in a text message on Saturday morning. "Mac looked like Player of Year of 1992. Kulick is so good physically. Easy to adjust off of her."
Mike Flanagan of Insidebowling.com posted the results in a story here.
"The entire event was supposed to be streamed in full HD by my team at InsideBowling.com, however a night of constant internet woes prevented the ability to stream for the majority of the night," Flanagan reported. "Brian Burkhardt was on hand to address the situation and actually found a solution by switching our live feed to the Live Stream service as opposed to our UStream channel. It was a hectic night for sure and something that I hope we never have to experience again. Along with the internet woes, lane scheduling mis-understandings caused for parts of the 2nd game to be re-bowled because teams moved incorrectly."
