The lane pattern for the new Silverado National Open.

Here's a tournament I'd bowl if I had unlimited vacation and funds:

The new Silverado National Open Aug. 26-29 at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno is offering a $15,000 top prize and a PBA Regional title if a PBA member wins it.

PBA’s Xtra Frame channel also will provide webcasting of the tournament, which will be conducted cooperatively by the PBA and Reno’s Tri-Properties (Eldorado Hotel/Casino, Circus Circus and Silver Legacy Resort/Casino), PBA announced in this news release.

The tournament is the first major offering from Reno’s Tri-Properties since Jim Sturm left the United States Bowling Congress to become an executive with the Tri-Properties.

The Silverado Open will feature pro-ams on Sunday, Aug. 26; qualifying on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 27-28; and match play finals on Wednesday, Aug. 29.

The entry fee is $189; not many more details on the prize list beyond the top prize were posted.

Some details are in the flyer below.

For additional details, call Sturm at 888-808-7720.

Xtra Frame also covered the 13th Luci Bonneau Memorial Striking Against Breast Cancer Mixed Doubles Tournament over the weekend in Houston, Texas; will cover the PBA West Region Ebonite-South Point Mixed Doubles event July 28-29; the finals of the 15th Teen Masters from Vanderbilt Hall in New York City’s Grand Central Terminal Aug. 5-8; and the 2012 PBA Senior Tour finale, the Senior Decatur Open presented by Brunswick, Aug. 12-14 from Spare Times Lanes in Decatur, Ill.
