If you’re looking to improve your game and live within reasonable distance of Sheboygan Falls, you will want to consider the eighth annual Storm Summer Lesson Program Sept. 28-29 at Odyssey Fun Center in that eastern Wisconsin community.

My doubles partner Steve Richter, who annually makes Bowlers Journal International’s list of Top 100 coaches, is the general manager of Odyssey and Elite Pro Shop and hosts the program.

The headline coaches for this year’s event are Chris Sand, Storm’s Midwest sales rep who has been part of the program before, and Jeff Carter, PBA Tour champion and Storm staffer.

“We’re thrilled to be able to organize this annual event and the list of great coaches who have come here keeps growing,” Richter said in announcing the program. “With the addition of Jeff we’re seeing lots of renewed interest from former students looking to connect with another great coach.”

Sand also will be bringing his set of 50 to 60 MatchMaker Live pre-drilled bowling balls to test free. I helped with the MatchMaker program at the Hall of Fame Xtravaganza in Las Vegas in June and it was a big hit with the many bowlers who took part.

Those who take a lesson get a $40 Use-It-Or-Lose-It credit towards a bowling ball in the Storm or Roto Grip line.

Richter said the lesson slots are about two-thirds full.
