Lauren Sammel is off to a hot start for the 2012-13 season, with a 1,528 at the Petersen Classic on Monday and a perfect game in the Dream Lanes Major League Wednesday night.
Her big effort at the Pete included a 223 game that is the tournament high for women on lanes 9-10 and led Dave Erickson's solid squad.
Sammel's 300 came between games of 201 and 180 for a 681 series.
She said in a text message that it was her fourth career perfect game, three of which are USBC certified.
I also received a Tweet from Mary Lo that Gregg Williams fired 819 Thursday night in the Prairie Lanes Classic League with a closing 299 game that featured a solid 8-pin on his final shot. Ouch!
Anyone else who knows of big scores shot before next Tuesday, when the State Journal starts taking scores for the following morning's paper, please report them to me so I can get them in my season stats.
