Entries are now being taken for the third annual Pam Buckner Open, which is set for June 29-30 at High Sierra Lanes in Reno, Nev.
Sponsored by Atlantis Casino Resort and Spa, the tournament honors the well-known bowler and coach and USBC Hall of Fammer.
Entries may get a boost from the USBC Open Championships and Women’s Championships both being in Reno this year.
The tournament, which is run by former PBA Northwest Region laneman Steve “Lane Dude” Stevens, pays $5,000 for first on a $225 entry with a maximum of 96 entries and the top one-fourth of the field cashing.
The basic format is 12 games of qualifying followed by a 16-person eliminator.
David Wilson and Chris Wilkes are the tournament directors. Steve Stevens, former PBA West and Northwest Region laneman, is the lane maintenence consultant.
