Jakob Butturff stretches lead at 2021 U.S. Open as 40-foot flat pattern yields higher scores than usual

Any flat lane pattern is going to yield low scores, but they weren’t quite as low as might have been expected on the flat pattern for Wednesday’s second round of the 2021 U.S. Open at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno.
Jakob Butturff extended the 63-pin lead he held after Tuesday’s first round to 77 pins after the second round as he added an 8-game block of 1,661 Wednesday to his 1,914 on Tuesday.
