The 11th Frame: PBA adds 'Champions Field' event within Tournament of Champions

In a clear and logical effort to draw more entries for the Tournament of Champions, the PBA announced that it is adding an optional “Champions Field” even within the tournament that is set for April 8-15 at Red Rock Lanes in Las Vegas.

The entry fee is $250 and with 96 entries, first will pay $4,000, with one in three cashing and a last cash spot worth $400.

If there are 20 entries or more, the winner will get credit for a Regional title.

The event will use the 14 games of Champions Field qualifying for the TOC.

More details are in this PBA news release.

That release also includes details on the first PBA Tour title ever awarded in the Middle East, which will happen Monday when the 9th annual Kuwait International Open concludes in Kuwait City.

Results of the tournament are posted here.

The second PBA Tour international title will be awarded to the winner of the Brunswick Euro Challenge on Sunday, March 25, in Saint Maximin, France.
