Gail Myers Jr. looking like new Open Championships lifetime average leader

It looks like Gail Myers Jr. will be the new lifetime average leader for the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships when the 2012 tournament ends. Going into this year’s tournament Myers trailed Mike Nape on the lifetime list (at least 20 years) 217.66 to 217.53, but after Myers totaled 1,858 and Nape struggled to his career-worst 1,639 (517 pins below his career high 2,156!), Myers now leads 217.06 to 216.23.
