Dave Beres makes a run at Petersen Classic lead

The Lennie Boresch Jr. squad that I am part of bowled the Petersen Classic at AMF Bolingbrook in that Chicago suburb on Friday, and Dave Beres provided the main fireworks. The PBA Regional champion and former PBA Tour exempt player started with a middling 550 the first three games, then rolled three beautiful 200 games on 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 to get to 1,209, meaning he needed 413 the last two games to tie Don Scudder’s leading 1,622.
