For years, straighter was greater on the 35-foot Cheetah lane pattern, but in recent years power players going left to right have thrived on Cheetah. That still was the case in Cheetah Championship qualifying last Tuesday at GEICO PBA World Series of Bowling VIII — it could hardly be otherwise with eight games of qualifying and the rev rates of many PBA Tour players.
