Conventional wisdom says the nearly flat patterns at the 2015 United States Bowling Congress Open Championships need to be managed properly to create the opportunity for high scores. That should favor groups of bowlers who work together, which has been seen this year with the leading teams. Scoring on the fresh should be a struggle and a lone lefty or two shouldn’t have much chance at a lead, unless they are part of a team like Jeff Mersch, who had 1,963 for team all-events leader...
