The Sun Prairie boys maintained their lead and the Monona Grove girls won the championship in Week 12 of Wisconsin District 4 High School Bowling at Prairie Lanes on Monday.

Eleven boys varsity, three boys junior varsity, and four girls teams are competing this year. For varsity only, there were 11 and five last season, and prior to that it was 11 and six, and 12 and six.  

The competition features nine games of Baker format each week.

For the boys, Sun Prairie leads with 107.5 points, and Sauk Prairie/Poynette is second with 82.5.

For the girls, Monona Grove won the title with 63 points, Sun Prairie was second with 61.5, La Follette/McFarland/Memorial third at 58, and Marshall/Cambridge fourth with 57.5.

Monona Grove qualified for the State Tournament in Division 2 and Sun Prairie in Division 1.

For boys on Monday, Sun Prairie had the high series and game with 2,016 and 258.

For girls, Sun Prairie had the high series of 1,784 and Marshall/Cambridge the high game with 262.

Three boys led in fill percentage at 100 percent: Mason Schellin of Sun Prairie, Austin Minor of La Follette and Mason Sonsalla of DeForest.

Allison Dempski led the girls in fill percentage with 100 percent.

For the season, Andrew Olson leads the boys with 92.89 percent.

The top five boys and top three girls in fill percentage, plus singles tournament champions Quinn Sheehy of Sun Prairie and Caitlin Powers of Marshall/Cambridge, qualify for the State Singles Tournament.

The top three girls were Dempski at 87.44 percent, Taylor Knudtson of Monona Grove and Clia Freitas of La Follette/McFarland/Memorial with 80.55 percent each.

State is March 2-4 at Weston Lanes.
