Despite a 154 in his final game of qualifying on Thursday, Ryan Shafer extended his lead in the Suncoast PBA Senior U.S. Open presented by Storm heading into the final day at the Suncoast in Las Vegas. The 5-time PBA Tour champion edged into the lead by five pins after the third round and extended it to 84 pins with games of 279, 221, 210, 227, 212 and 154 for 1,303 for the round and 5,340 for the 24 games of qualifying (222.5 average) on the PBA Bear 39 lane pattern. “You have to put...
