Germany’s Laura Beuthner has been stripped of the singles gold medal for the 2017 World Games after testing for positive for a banned substance, the International World Games Association reported June 28 in this post on its website. IWGA said the prohibited substance was hydrochlorothiazide, a drug taken to treat high blood pressure that is a diuretic considered to be a masking agent for performance-enhancing drugs by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
