The boys from Japan and girls from Korea lead after the first day of team event Tuesday at the 2018 World Bowling Youth Championships at Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park, Michigan. The Junior Team USA boys, who failed to win a medal in singles or doubles, are close but will need to improve in Wednesday’s second round of qualifying if they are to win the squad’s fourth straight team gold medal.
