The 12^th annual Junior Hall of Fame tournament is set for Sunday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at AMF Bowlero Lanes in the Milwaukee suburb of Wauwatosa, and the entry deadline is Nov. 1, tournament director Shannon Labinski announced.

The popular and gigantic tourney has modified its format this year and has room for only 84 teams — 60 handicap and 24 scratch. Update: Labinski on Nov. 2 announced that the tournament was sold out.

The tournament is sponsored by 900 Global, Logo Infusion and the Milwaukee Area USBC and Hall of Fame.

Here is my story on last year’s tournament.

Youth bowlers will be able to choose the handicap or scratch divisions, while all adults will continue to bowl scratch. Handicap is 85 percent based on a 220 average.

The entry fee is $90 for each 2-junior team ($45 per bowler and juniors must enter as a 2-person team).

With a full field, first will be $1,000 in handicap and $900 in scratch, with the winners also getting a 900 Global ball and semi-custom Logo Infusion jersey.

All youth bowlers who enter and pay their entry fee by Oct. 15 will get a free JHOFT shirt donated by Logo Infusion.

The tournament staff will draw the teams prior to the event.

Any adults wishing to bowl are asked to email Scott Huenink at [email protected] by Nov. 1.

The youth female and male bowlers rolling the most pins over their average during qualifying in the handicap division will win the $50 Adam Schultz and Jennifer Krueger Scholarship Awards. Scratch prizes will be awarded to the highest 4-game series male and female in the scratch division.

Adults will be able to enter pot games, brackets and men's/women's sweepers.

Half of the adult bracket fees and a portion of each sweeper entry will be added to the scholarship fund. Raffles also will raise scholarship money.

In scratch, there will be four games of traditional bowling and four games of team Baker format, with the top eight teams advancing to Round 2.

In Round 2, Those eight teams will bowl will bowl four more team Baker games, with pins carrying over, and the top four teams then will advance to a stepladder finals.

The stepladder format will be 2-game team Baker format matches.

In handicap, there will be three games of traditional bowling and four games of team Baker format, with the top 20 teams advancing to Round 2.

In Round 2, those 20 teams will bowl will bowl four more team Baker games, with pins carrying over, and the top four teams then will advance to a stepladder finals.

The stepladder format will be 1-game team Baker format matches.

The team Baker format has the adult bowling frames 1, 4, 7 and 10 and the youths bowling 2-5-8 and 3-6-9.

In the handicap division, handicap for Baker games is 60 percent of the total youth handicap per game.

And for the third straight year, the Celebrity Charity Bowling Event will be held the night before (Saturday, Nov. 10) at Classic Lanes Greenfield, with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation again the beneficiary charity.

USBC Hall of Famer Lynda Barnes will be on hand for the weekend and Labinski said everyone should come out to meet her.

I won't be able to make it again this year because I will be flying to Las Vegas very early on Nov. 11 for the South Point Senior Shootout. I’m also missing the Madison Area USBC Senior Masters on Nov. 11. This is one day where I wish there were three of me!
