Despite 6% entry decline, Petersen Classic pays 2 more $1,000 prizes in 2018 as Bowlero keeps investing in famed tournament

Although entries declined 6 percent from 2,791 in 2017 to 2,621 in 2018, the Petersen Classic will pay 49 $1,000 spots in the main singles prize list 2018, up from 47 in 2017, Bowlero Corp. announced Friday. “This is in line with our goal of extending a $1,000 payout further down the prize list,” Mike Sledz, Bowlero director of league development, said in an email packed with stats from this year’s Petersen.
