World Bowling will use the pre-Aug. 1 United States Bowling Congress equipment specifications for the 2018 World Men&rsquo;s Championships that will be held Nov. 23 through Dec. 5 in Hong Kong, then move to the current USBC specifications on Jan. 1, the World Bowling Technical Committee has recommended and the Executive Board has approved, pending adoption or rejection by the 2019 World Bowling Congress and/or further committee action.

World Bowling has been soliciting input from member federations and industry stakeholders to determine if changes are necessary in how global bowling specifications are set. The study could have been a step on the path toward World Bowling setting specifications for the sport globally — and still could be depending on possible further World Bowling action.
