Nick Heilman struck on his final ball to edge defending champion Brady Stearns 193-192 in the title match to win the 61st annual Chippewa Valley Match Games over the weekend at Wagner’s Lanes in Eau Claire.
Heilman earned $1,500 and Stearns $800 in the CVMG, which drew 122 entries, up slightly from 119 last year, but down slightly from 125 in 2017 and a record 134 in 2016.
