After missing a 7-pin in the sixth frame of the title match of the 2019 PBA World Championship, Jakob Butturff appeared to be toast at 32 pins behind Jason Belmonte and without a double. But like the champion he is, the lefty with the quirky corkscrew release and devastating strike ball reached back for something extra and closed with six strikes for 227, exclaiming, “Make him earn it!” after the second strike of his 10th frame.
