When it was announced that 32-lane Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln, Nebraska, would host the 2020 U.S. Open, I wondered what adjustments USBC might make due to Sun Valley having eight fewer lanes than any U.S. Open host center I can remember in modern times. If USBC kept the field at 144 players and stuck with the “practice range” concept it has used in recent years, there would be 48 players per squad.
