Tom Hess made it a three-peat at the Greater Iowa Bowling Association Iowa Open on Sunday to win a spot in the 2020 U.S. Open that will be held in February in Lincoln, Nebraska, GIBA administrator Joe Engelkes reported. The tournament drew a 73-player field to May City Bowl in Cedar Rapids for competition on a 41-foot flat pattern. Andy Shutt led the eight games of qualifying at 1,720, with Hess second at 1,708.
