Update Aug. 5, 2020:

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the cancellation of the Peak Performance Bowling camps scheduled for Aug. 8-9 at Ashwaubenon Bowl in Ashwaubenon and Ten Pin Alley in Fitchburg, Mike Shady said in a message.

Original story July 4, 2020:

USBC Hall of Famer and Team USA assistant coach Mike Shady has had several offerings of private lessons and his Peak Performance Bowling Camp in Wisconsin in the last several years.

But there’s never been a year like 2020, with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even with the pandemic, Shady has scheduled PPB camps with fellow Team USA assistant coach Andy Diercks on Saturday, Aug. 8 at Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley in that Green Bay suburb and Ten Pin Alley Sunday, Aug. 9 at Ten Pin Alley in the Madison suburb of Fitchburg. Diercks also is head coach of Mount Mercy University.

The Ashwaubenon sessions are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and the Ten Pin session is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The $125 fee includes physical technique analysis, performance tools development, mental game development and a take home workbook.

To register, go to www.mikeshadybowling.com or email to [email protected].

The flyers for the camps are attached to the end of this blog as PDFs.

Shady, my long-time teammate and a long-time Ebonite staffer, has been one of the world’s top coaches for years, and is a PBA Tour and USBC Open Championships champion.

The following is from Shady’s news release announcing the camps:
One of the greatest feelings in bowling is when you achieve that perfect shot (balance, release, ball motion, confidence, etc) and the enjoyment that accompanies it.  Coach Shady and his instructors are committed to helping bowlers attain that feeling.  This year's Mike Shady Bowling camps will provide bowlers the opportunity to improve essential skills and provide more enjoyment in the sport of bowling. Not only does the camp feature an unprecedented combination of current methodologies that enables the coaching staff to better reform and develop the physical game, but the curriculum also includes topics in bowling ball arsenal development, spare shooting and the mental game.  “Attending our camp creates an incredible opportunity for success for bowlers who attend,” says Coach Shady.  “These bowlers will receive intense world class training that will cover the vital components needed to succeed at the highest level, in all competitive environments.  This is must training camp for any bowler and/or coach who wants to be successful in the sport of bowling".
