The 'Immortalizer': Has the real reason reactive resin balls lose power over time been found and a cure created?

Almost since the Xcalibur began the reactive resin revolution nearly 30 years ago, such balls losing their power/reaction/hook over time has been an issue.
In some cases, that power loss can be accompanied by cracking of the coverstock, which is something that impacts every manufacturer.
