Tom Hess averages 228.38 to lead 2021 PBA50 Granville Financial Open after first round

Coming off a third-place finish in last week’s Florida Blue Medicare PBA50 National Championship, Tom Hess averaged 228.38 to lead the 2021 PBA50 Granville Financial Open after Monday’s first round of qualifying, according to results posted here. Competing on the Ballard 35 lane pattern at Sandhills Bowling Center in Aberdeen, N.C., the 2011 USBC Masters champion totaled 1,827 for eight games to lead the 1,811 of Mark Sullivan by 16 pins.
