Short pattern master Eugene McCune averaged 254 to lead Tuesday’s first round of qualifying of the PBA50 South Shore Open at Olympia Lanes in Hammond, Indiana, according to results posted here.
McCune, who once famously averaged 274 for a block on the Cheetah pattern, totaled 1,778 for seven games on the Del Ballard 35 lane pattern, 25 pins ahead of Hall of Famer Amleto Monacelli, who was second at 1,753. McCune's two PBA50 Tour titles include the 2018 South Shore Open.
