The Madison Area USBC Open Championships — aka the City Tournament — has never seen a weekend like Saturday and Sunday at Bowl-A-Vard Lanes in Madison.
It started on Saturday when Mike Pounders took the lead with a record 833 in singles and 2,313 in all-events that would win the titles. The powerful right-hander had 682 in team before blasting 798 in doubles and the 833 in singles.
The prior leaders were Jim Fosdick with 769 in singles and Eric Pederson with 2,199 all-events.
