Back in the day, Bob Klatt organized an amazing PBA Regional in the Twin Cities that actually turned a profit while offering solid prize money. Klatt did it with a ton of work securing sponsors and producing a huge pro-am. Obviously, all the effort in the world might not produce that everywhere, but I always referenced Klatt when someone would ask me about putting on a Regional.
