If you watched the BowlTV webcast of Wednesday’s second round of the 2023 U.S. Open at Royal Pin Woodland in Indianapolis, you saw a lot of guttercap lofting by right-handers as they broke down the 43-foot “middle finger” lane pattern. When that happens, you’ll almost always find a power player at the top, which should be even more likely in 2023 with Norm Duke and his “I can play up the outside on anything” skillset retired.    No one would call...
