As a (has-been) bowler, I have no interest in competing on string pinsetters — if given a choice.  But you have to be blind not to see that economics — string machines cost less, use less energy, and don’t require expensive and hard-to-find mechanics — make it inevitable that string pinsetters will be a growing portion of the industry.
