The upside down “broomstick” lane pattern swept away plenty of players in Thursday’s first round of the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open, as just 35 of the 108 players averaged 200 or better. Pattern 1 was 42 feet with a 37-foot drop brush and 31.65 mL of oil — 22.9 mL forward and 8.75 mL reverse — with ratios of 2.08-1 middle-outside track, 1.47-1 middle-middle track and 1.19-1 middle-inside track.
