After a solid first round that had her tied for the lead at the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open, Germany’s Birgit Noreiks was even better in Friday’s second round as she opened up a 115-pin lead.
Noreiks and Latvia’s Diana Zavjalova tied for the first round lead with 1,768 on the upside down “broomstick” lane pattern.
On Friday at ABC Gates Bowl, Noreiks fired games of 184, 244, 178, 236, 231, 264, 269 and 251 for 1,857 and a 16-game total of 3,625, a 226.56 average....
