As just 18 of the 108 players averaged 200 or better on the flat pattern in Saturday’s third round of the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open, Birgit Noreiks extended her lead from 115 to 175 pins. Noreiks was tied with Diana Zavjalova at 1,768 for eight games after Thursday’s first round, then took a 115-pin lead over Dasha Kovalova with a huge 1,857 total in Friday’s second round and a 16-game total of 3,625.
