Alex Diercks won the 2023 Greater Iowa Bowling Association Iowa Open at May City Bowl in Cedar Rapids on Sunday. The win earned Diercks a spot in the 2024 U.S. Open, as the Iowa Open is an official U.S. Open qualifier. Diercks fired a perfect game on the 40-foot flat pattern and edged PBA50 Tour star Tom Hess by 27 pins.
