Wichita State star Ryan Barnes stole the spotlight by making the stepladder finals of the 2024 PBA Players Championship presented by Snickers, but Tom Smallwood earned the top seed to quietly sit one game from winning a third major title.
Smallwood went 17-7 in match play and averaged 237.83 over 48 games to total 11,926 on the high-scoring, 38-foot Wayne Webb lane pattern. His eight games on Saturday included a 300.
