DeeRonn Booker, Shannon Pluhowsky lead after Day 1 of 2024 Team USA Trials with expected higher scores

As I wrote in my preview, the lane patterns for the 2024 Team USA Trials have softer ratios than the patterns at the 2023 Trials.
Logically, that should lead to higher scores, and it did in Wednesday’s first round of the 5-round tournament at the Gold Coast in Las Vegas.
DeeRonn Booker led the 175-player men’s field with 1,466 on games of 264, 198, 257, 224, 278 and 245, while PWBA Tour champion Shannon Pluhowsky led the 153-player women’s field with 1,455 on games of 290,...
