It’s an obvious joke after Thursday’s first round of the 2024 USBC Super Senior Classic: “What are the old guys bowling on this week?” “The McCordic pattern.” Brothers Pete and Paul McCordic outdistanced the field Thursday at Sam’s Town in Las Vegas. Pete, the right-hander with the mega-famous 300 on ABC-TV nearly 40 years ago, fired games of 237, 269, 258, 225, 268 and 265 for 1,522, a 253.67 average.
