Theoretically, the flat pattern used in the second round of the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open is the hardest of the four lane patterns used in the tournament. And it was brutal, as only 16 of the 108 players averaged 200 or better on it Friday at Sun Valley Lanes & Games in Lincoln, Nebraska. Also theoretically, the modified flat pattern used in Saturday’s third round should be not quite as hard as the flat pattern. But that’s not how it turned out, as only 11 players...
